Can I reschedule or cancel my move without penalty?

Yes. We understand our client’s concerns and upon request and at no cost, we will postpone and reschedule services. There are no obligations for scheduling moves and clients can cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee.

Are there any restricted areas or states Roadway can’t operate in?

As it stands, the State of New York set forth Executive Order 202.6 stating only essential companies and workers, would be authorized to operate until further notice. Moving and Warehousing has been classified as “essential” and as of now, we will continue to operate normally. We’re currently aware that moving services are considered essential services in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, California, and Florida, as such, we can provide services there.

Do you offer contactless moving? If so, what services are provided?

Yes, we provide contactless moving during the pandemic. Our contactless moves entail virtual home surveys, electronic booking, no cash payment policy, electronic contracts, virtual communication, and full packing and labeling service.

What precautions should I take before the movers come?

For the safety of our movers and drivers, please sanitize any surfaces and the areas that they will be working in. If possible, we recommend our clients to be in protective gear.

Do I need to meet with the movers or drivers?

We do recommend our clients to be present during the move. Our movers and drivers will be in protective gear (hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, masks, gloves and booties) during the entire process. Please practice social distancing while they are working.

Are the movers protected with special gear and what safety procedures are being done?

Yes, movers visiting your home will be equipped with hand sanitizers, masks, gloves and booties. This also applies to onsite estimators. Our employees’ temperatures a monitored daily, any employee showing possible symptoms are sent home and cannot return until cleared by a medical professional. We disinfect our trucks and offices twice a day, morning and evening. We will not be using reusable bins nor used boxes during our moves.

How does a virtual onsite consultation work?

We are no longer conducting in-person onsite estimates and now conducting virtual consultations. Our onsite estimator will schedule a virtual meeting via Facetime, video conference or any form of live video that our client prefers.

Are buildings and landlords allowing moving and moving companies to enter?

The executive order states that only essential companies and workers, would be authorized to operate until further notice. Aside from checking with us, it also helps to clarify with your homeowners and building and/or your building management if there are new moving policies, regulations, and restrictions. It’s best if you ask about this at least a week before the move so we also know how to adjust on our end.

Are moving companies considered “essential” with the COVID-19 executive order placed in New York?

Do you offer storage services during this time? Are any services affected?

Yes. Storage services are available, along with our other services. We have not paused operations at this time due to the executive order stating that moving and warehousing are “essential.” For the safety of our clients and employees, we sanitize our storage facilities, trucks, and equipment daily.
