Moving you from New York to any location in Hamptons

DIRECTLY, WITHOUT USING SUBCONTRACTORS

If you ever read moving company reviews, you could notice that #1 reason why people experience issues when moving long distance is that their moving company outsources the delivery to other transportation companies and therefore loses control over the stuff.

In a situation like that the moving company can’t know where the stuff is and when exactly it will be delivered.

That is why at Roadway Moving we have our own trailers and we do not outsource delivery to others.

We can move you directly from NYC to any part of Hamptons and you can rest assured that your stuff will be packed safely, GPS tracked during the whole move and delivered on time.

Cost of living

The average cost of living in the Hamptons is $2,502 per month. This includes utilities and other expenses like phone bills and cable TV subscriptions. On food, annually, a single adult can spend around $3,500. While a family of four can reach up to $10,000. There is a diverse market in the Hamptons having some homes under $ 1 million and some as high as $100 million. Recently, many people don’t buy houses just yet, they rent them long-term. It might be cheaper to rent than to own a home. That said, there are more options for full-year leases available. More affordable areas are Montauk, Hampton Bays, and Westhampton. The average home price in Flanders and Hampton Bays is around $410K – $870K.

Job opportunities

The highest number of opportunities hides in remote or seasonal work. Since the Hamptons were a place you would come for vacation until now, seasonal work stays on top with their search for employees that never stops. Restaurants, retail, brand ambassadors, and nurses are constantly needed. That said, employers started raising the hourly pay, and some have raised it from $12 to $18. On the other hand, the majority of the Hamptons population works remotely or drives to different cities for work and finds it to be the best of both worlds.

Education

East-end schools love small-size classes with high-quality teachers. Noyack, a subset of Sag Harbor, and Springs have one of the best public schools, offering a great environment for a family. Along with many scholarships, and 33 public schools with over 20,000 students, the Hamptons are home to Hampton University which is ranked #4 for best HBCU in the country.

Transportation

Most people use their car to get around since, as we mentioned, it is very popular for people living in the Hamptons to be working in different cities like NYC. There are also train and bus services, like the Hampton Jitney. The Long Island Rail Road (aka the LIRR) is also a way to get around, although it is not as frequent as buses or uber and taxi services. There is also a free shuttle you can take – Circuit, which circulates within Southampton, East Hampton, and Montauk

Quality food

The Hamptons are lucky to have some of the most creative chefs, having Montauk scallops with fried green tomatoes and shiitakes, Avgolemono soup, roasted lamb with orzo, and some amazing lobster boils to name a few, available to them at all times. With easy access to seafood, you can imagine how rich their local markets are.

Hamptons gems

Hampton classic horse show would be on top of the list being one of the largest show jumping contests in the US. A close second goes to 500 feet long Cooper’s Beach with its beautiful views of historic mansions. It is one of the most popular beaches in the United States. This time, Montauk Point Light takes the Bronze. The place where the “Meet me in Montauk.” line from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind movie was made, is the first lighthouse made in New York and the fourth oldest that is still active in the whole United States.
